InterMountain Medical Clinic Providers

InterMountain Medical Clinic offers many choices of professionals whom can provide your medical care. These professional providers are physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists. These providers come together as a team to provide you with complete and quality medical care.

Physicians

All of the physicians at InterMountain Medical Clinic are Board Certified in their respective specialty. Board Certification indicates a higher standard of education with continual medical education to remain current with the latest medical care. All of our physicians have active staff privileges at Portneuf Medical Center.

Brandon Mickelsen, D.O.

Dr. Brandon Mickelsen grew up in Pocatello and attended Highland High School. After completing an LDS mission in Holland and Belgium he attended Idaho State University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Biology. During his time at ISU, he was the junior varsity girls basketball coach at Highland High School.

Growing up in Idaho Falls, Dr. Price attended Bonneville High School. After completing an LDS mission in Portugal he attended Idaho State University receiving his bachelors degree in Chemistry.

Andy Thayne, M.D.

Dr. Thayne completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in 1990.

He then attended the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland while on an Army scholarship, graduating in 1994.

He did his three year Family Practice Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington, finishing in 1997.

Kris Walker, M.D.

Dr. Walker completed her undergraduate studies at Idaho State University in 1983 and earned her Medical Doctorate from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1994.

She did her three year Family Practice residency at McKay Dee Hospital and became Board Certified in Family Practice in 1997. She joined InterMountain Medical Clinic in 1997.

Clay Baker,M.D.

Dr. Clay Baker completed his undergraduate studies and earned his Medical Doctorate at University of Missouri - Columbia in 1998.

Nurse Practitioners

(American Academy of Nurse Practitioners)

Nurse Practitioner is an advanced master’s degree in nursing. This degree allows the provider to practice medicine independently. The Nurse Practitioner graduate must pass a national certification test prior to practicing medicine in private practice. The Nurse Practitioners at InterMountain Medical Clinic do not have staff privileges at the hospital.

Misty Martinsen, F.N.P.

Misty Martinsen, F.N.P. completed her undergraduate studies at Idaho State University in 2003. In 2009 she completed her graduate studies at Idaho State University earning her Masters Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Bill Sabel, F.N.P.

Bill joined InterMountain Medical Clinic in April 2005 working evenings and weekends in the Urgent Care. He will be accepting patients on a full time basis starting February 1, 2010.

Bill most recently comes from a cardiology setting with experience in coronary artery disease risk reduction, congestive heart failure treatment and heart rhythm problems.

Physician Assistants

(American Academy of Physician Assistants)

Physician Assistants are either a master's or bachelor degree. After completing their education they must become certified by passing a national exam and receive their license from the State Board of Medicine. They may then practice medicine with a supervising physician. The Physician Assistants at InterMountain Medical Clinic do not have staff privileges at the hospital.

Pharmacist

The pharmacists at InterMountain Medical Clinic are here in conjunction with a teaching site for
Idaho State University’s Doctorate of Pharmacy
program. They provide a valuable resource and service to the other providers and patients at InterMountain Medical Clinic.

The Pharmacist:

Cara Liday, PharmD, CDE

Dr. Liday is an Associate Professor at Idaho State University College of Pharmacy. She earned her Pharm.D. degree at ISU and completed a pharmacy practice residency and fellowship with the Department of Family Medicine. She has been a member of the ISU faculty since 1998.
