Q: Is InterMountain Medical Clinic (IMC) accepting new patients?

A: Yes. Most physicians in IMC are accepting new qualified patients. Call 238-1000 to make an appointment.

Q: What can I do if I am sick but I can't see my regular doctor or he or she does not have an appointment available?

A: Go to our Urgent Care. No appointment is necessary.

Q: When should I go to the Urgent Care instead of the Emergency Room?

A: The Urgent Care is for non-life-threatening illnesses. If you are having chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden numbness, passing out or any condition you may think is life-threatening call 911 or go to the emergency room.

Q: What do I do if I get sick and the office is closed?

A: We have a community call schedule where there will be a physician from the community available after hours. This physician can be contacted through our answering service by calling 208-525-3712. Please call 911 if you are concerned it may be a life-threatening illness.

Q: Which hospital do the physicians practice at?

A: Portneuf Medical Center. The physicians at IMC will make every attempt to see their patients while hospitalized. However there may be circumstances where the physician may ask a colleague to assume your hospital care.

Q: How do I get my prescriptions refilled?

A: You must have been seen at least once within the last year to get your prescriptions refilled without being seen. Also, refills are only available Monday - Friday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. You can ask your pharmacist to call for refills. Allow for 48 hours for this request to be processed. If you find you need an urgent refill, you may leave a message with the provider's nurse.

Q: Does IMC bill my health insurance?

A: Yes, we bill all insurance companies. To make sure you are receiving the full benefits of your plan, refer to the list of insurance companies we are contracted with.
